It’s no big deal.

If you read last week’s blog you know I recently communicated with a dead cat. I did a reading for a client and she had some questions for her cat that had passed many years prior. And even though it was long ago, the cat was still around her. The cat was still with her. The cat proved that to her by giving me information that only she could verify. So, today I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about when I got Abraham-Hick’s daily quote. It reads:

Make fun of death. We are as dead as it gets, and we are fully aware of this joyous experience. We are with you every time you allow it. We are in every singing bird and in every joyful child. We are part of every delicious pulsing in your environment. We are not dead, and neither will you ever be! You will just get up, one day, and get out of the movie.

–Abraham

After reading that, I knew what I wanted to write about. Death. And how it really is no big deal. Now before you all go crazy on me, know that two years ago I lost my Mom and yes, it was a very big deal. So I do know and acknowledge the intense pain that comes when you lose a loved one…human or animal. My point in this post is to let you know that you didn’t REALLY lose that human or that animal. Yes, they are no longer physically here with you, but they are here with you. They are still around you. You just have to stay open to their communication. You just have to allow it. How you ask?

Like I said, when my Mom died, it was devastating, BUT because I do the kind of work that I do, I already knew that the veil between this physical plain and another is ridiculously thin. Think about it. We know that everything in this Universe is energy. I am. You are. The keyboard I’m typing on is. And everything that we perceive is ‘dead’ is too. So my Mom is still energy and my client’s cat is still energy. So let’s remember that according to the Law of Attraction, like attracts like. And, if you believe in a ‘heaven-like’ place where there is nothing but love and joy, you know that those whom have crossed over to that place can only vibrate on that highest level of love and joy. So it makes sense that when we ourselves are vibrating with love and joy and appreciation, we will be more open to allowing our loved ones whom have crossed to connect with us.

That’s how.

Make yourself really, really happy and really, really full of love…then watch what happens. Watch for that gorgeous cardinal to come flying right at you. Watch for the clock to be at 11:11 just when you look up. Watch for the rainbow. Watch for the dragonfly to land on your toe. Believe that they are still with you. Talk to them just like you did before. Believe that this death thing?

It’s really no big deal.

(And yes, I just finished typing that and looked at the clock. 10:10. Thanks Mom….)

Animals. They make lemonade.

Animals have a ton to teach us. In fact, I believe that that is why they’re here with us. To teach us stuff. When I communicate with an animal for a client, that’s what I’m looking for, the lesson that animal is trying to teach its human. In other words, when I communicate with an animal, I’m looking for more than, “He loves his dog bed.” Or “His favorite toy is a stuffed skunk.” When I do pick up those types of things, it’s pretty cool because the human feels that validation, but it really goes so much deeper than that. As an Animal Communicator I get to hear some pretty cool lessons and I get to see how those lessons change the humans that get them.

Animals totally get the Law of Attraction. The other day I was reading an animal for a client. In a reading, I always ask the human for questions for his or her animal. This client had a question around the passing of the animal. Yes, the animal had already crossed. It’s energy. Doesn’t really matter where they are. Weird. I know. But very, very cool. Anyway, the human wanted particulars about the animal’s passing. The cool thing was, the animal wouldn’t give them to me. And he made it very clear that he wasn’t going there. What he did give me was the ‘feeling’ he had when it was happening. And it was kind of lovely. He showed me that it was peaceful and airy, a little dizzying, and very calm. Like it was no big deal. The point in this is that he down right refused to go in to any detail that would pull his human back to that time in her life and make her feel that pain and confusion again.

I talk about this to people a lot when they tell me how they’re working on an issue that they’ve had for 2, 5, 10 years. Or how their therapist or counselor or whatever is helping them re-live some horrible event so they can ‘work through it.’ As humans, we tell ourselves that in order to get over [insert issue here] we have to analyze it until we completely understand it and own it and only THEN can we get over it and move on. But in reality, by analyzing that situation to death, all we’re doing is keeping it in our vibration.

Here’s the big thing. Universe doesn’t differentiate between something that’s happening now or something that happened 20 years ago. If you’re thinking about it NOW, it’s in your vibration NOW and you are NOW attracting things with a similar vibration.

My client’s animal knew the pain she had gone through when he died. And he would NOT bring her back to that place. Because there was no good to come from it. He refused to bring her pain from the past back in to her now causing her to attract more of it. Instead, he showed me the positive aspect of what had happened. In short…

He showed me the lemonade.

Be the best you can be. For now.

If you’ve been following my blog you know that I’ve been working my way through posting on the agreements in The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz. And now we’re on the last one. I love this last agreement because it almost gives me a sense of relief. The previous three agreements take work! This one does too, but it kind of feels like he gives you a little break.

Always do your best.

That’s it. Just do the best you can. And if you mess up one day, start fresh and try to do your best from that point on. See what I mean? It’s a little easier. There’s no demanding and there’s no punishment if you don’t. Just do your best at every given moment. And if you realize something wasn’t exactly your best? Just try to do better from that point on. It’s like in the Law of Attraction when they say to ‘reach for the better feeling thought.’ And that’s key.

In the book, don Miguel says “But keep in mind that your best is never going to be the same from one moment to the next.” Sometimes your best is going to be really, really good. Other times your best is barely going to be good at all. And on those days when it’s not? No worries, just do your best, reach for the better feeling thought, and stop beating yourself up about it.

And the beating yourself up part is huge. At least for me. Here’s an example. The hubby and I just got back from a week away. I was really looking forward to relaxing while on vacation. Problem is I wasn’t able to completely let go of a bunch of stuff until halfway through the week. Because of that I could feel myself starting to get angry with myself. I was starting to beat myself up because I couldn’t relax and because I wasn’t taking care of me. Talk about counter productive.

By beating myself up I was just continuing the cycle of not taking care of myself. But it suddenly dawned on me that all I had to do was do my best. And it worked. Was my first day of ‘letting go’ and doing my best a great day? No, but because I just kept reaching for a better feeling thought and doing my best, it was better than the day before. So I kept doing it. And lo and behold, things turned from stressed and uptight, to pretty darn good. So today I challenge you to give yourself a break and

Just be the best you can be…for now.
