If you can’t say anything nice…

I’m loving today’s AH quote: “To hold someone as your object of attention while you’re connected to Source Energy, is the greatest gift that anyone could give.” As humans and decent people, we want to help those around us who are suffering from one thing or another or just complaining about one thing or another. Unfortunately, what we tend to do when someone comes to us with that suffering, is to kind of help them wallow in it. We offer suggestions, but for the most part we agree with them, “Yes, I know, it’s so hard. I’m so sorry this bad thing is happening to you. You must feel just awful. I’m so sorry you’re so sad,” etc. So instead what should we do?

Nothing. Don’t say a thing.

Sounds pretty harsh, right? Well think about it. Although we mean well, by saying those things we think are helping them, we’re really only helping them keep all that ‘suffering’ or ‘complaining’ energy around them. We shouldn’t add any energy what-so-ever to their suffering or complaining. If you can’t say anything positive when you’re around someone in that state, then you shouldn’t say anything at all.

The best thing you can do for a person who is choosing to suffer or complain is to find your own connection to Source/God/Universe/Spirit and THEN to think about your friend from that perspective. Holding them in love and appreciation. Thinking awesome thoughts about them. To hold someone as your object of attention while you’re in that space is way better than helping them stay in their space.

So, next time you find yourself sitting next to someone who is complaining or suffering…even rightfully so…offer to help them.

And then don’t say a word.

You’ll be amazed at what happens.
